In pediatric age, most prevalent causative organism of empyema with pneumatocele is Stapylococcus,
but recently we experienced a case of E. coli empyema with pneumatocele in 9 month old boy,
who had history of sudden dyspnea with high fever, cyanosis and diarrhea.
He was treated successfully with Gentamycin and closed surgical chest drainage.
We report this case with brief review of literature.

Clinical studies on the 40 cases of urinary tract infections who were admitted to the pediatric
department of Severance Hospital from Jan. 1964 to Dec. 1973, were subjected in this study.
The results were as follows:
1) Among the 40cases,26 cases(65%) were male and 14 cases〔35%) were female.
2) Age incidence showed 7 to 12 years to be most commonly affected and 8 cases (20%) in.

A case of infantile cortical hyperostosis is reported.
The patient was 2 months old female who complained of mild fever and irritability, especially when
changed her diaper.
X-Ray showed marked periosteal elevation on the mandible, upper and lower extremities. Other
laboratory tests were almost within normal limit.
A brief review of literatures was made.
